2018 Europa League final: Four Premier League flops looking to stun Atletico Madrid
Spurs had hoped the speedy left-footer would help add some extra spark to their side and some depth to their squad but in the end he never made a Premier League start and mustered just 185 minutes off the bench. In the Europa League he got two starts but overall he just couldn’t make an impact. Since moving back to France with Marseille he’s proved himself a handy operator though, 11 Ligue 1 goals, and creating four for others in two campaigns. He could stretch Atletico if he appears late in the game as a substitute.
Marseille take on Atletico Madrid in the Europa League final on Wednesday night, and Premier League fans will see some familiar faces.
Not only will Diego Costa be on show, no doubt making trouble as usual, but a few other ex-English top-flight stars could complete some incredible career turnarounds with victory in Lyon.
