Arsenal news: Gunners plot Chelsea raid to secure Aaron Ramsey replacement | Football | Sport
Ramsey looks on course to leave Arsenal after 10 years at the club following a breakdown in contract talks.
Should Arsenal get a decent offer, they could look to sell Ramsey in January rather than losing him on a free transfer next summer.
While at Chelsea, Loftus-Cheek is desperate for regular football after failing to break into Maurizio Sarri’s team.
Loftus-Cheek was dropped from the England squad by Gareth Southgate due to his lack of minutes.
And with Ross Barkley and Mateo Kovacic ahead of him in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, Loftus-Cheek faces an uphill struggle to prove himself.
As a result, the Daily Mail say the England international is considering his future.
And the report says Arsenal will be among the clubs interested if they lose Ramsey in the New Year.
But former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says Ramsey could yet sign a new deal.
When asked if he would give Ramsey a new contract, Wenger said: “We tried that before and it still can happen.
“I don’t really know what is happening at Arsenal.
“Sure, Aaron Ramsey is in a strong position now and he will use this position.
“But I don’t know how far Arsenal will go in terms of giving him a huge contract.
“These things were once my responsibility but not anymore. I am happy about that.”
Ramsey is currently on international duty with Wales and is set feature against the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday.
