Unai Emery’s Arsenal won’t be making any big-money signings this January.
The Gunners boss recently confirmed he has no cash to splash this month, ruling them out of the running to sign some of the more glamorous names on their transfer wishlist, like Ousmane Dembele and Malcom.
The north London side are in the market for some loan signings however and have been strongly linked with a move for Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez.
Here are three other developing transfer stories coming out of Arsenal this Monday as Mesut Ozil’s long-term future at the club hangs in the balance and Sven Mislintat gets to work.
Arsenal ‘keeping tabs on Wolves centre-back’
Conor Coady is on Arsenal’s transfer wishlist, according to the Daily Mail.
The Wolves captain has been a stand-out performer for the newly-promoted side this season, and has been handed a new contract at the club.
But Arsenal are said to be paying close attention to the defender’s situation and are considering a swoop for his services.
Youssef Ait Bennasser ‘on Arsenal’s radar’
Arsenal are taking a look at Monaco youngster Youssef Ait Bennasser, according to Calciomercato.
The youngster is reportedly available for just £9million, which would suit the cash-strapped Gunners at this moment in time.
But Arsenal are said to be considering a six-month loan for the player this month.
Unai Emery ‘looking to offload Mesut Ozil’
Unai Emery wants to offload Mesut Ozil to free up funds for new players, according to the Daily Mail.
The Arsenal boss doesn’t favour the German World Cup winner, who last played for the Gunners on Boxing Day.
Ozil is the club’s best-paid player and Emery allegedly believes this money could be better spent on new recruits.
