Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez agree…
Antoine Griezmann is using Barcelona’s interest to secure a lucrative contract with Atletico Madrid.
That’s what Spanish website Don Balon claim Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are thinking.
Griezmann, who’s been strongly linked with Barcelona, recently revealed that he’s decided his future plans but refused to discuss whether he will leave the Wanda Metropolitano.
“The decision has been taken but it is not the time or the place to talk about it,” he said. “I am very sorry, I know you have all been waiting but I will not give my decision today.”
Don Balon claim Griezmann wants ‘the best possible deal’ with Atletico Madrid and the arrival of ‘close friend’ Thomas Lemar will see him reject Barcelona.
Mohamed Salah swap deal
Mohamed Salah could be heading to Barcelona in a stunning swap deal involving Jasper Cillessen, it’s claimed in Spain.
Salah, 25, has been heavily linked with a move to La Liga in recent months.
The Egypt international has been tipped to join Barcelona or Real Madrid this summer in a blockbuster deal.
And according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, Barca are willing to offer a mammoth swap deal to land Salah this summer.
They say Nou Camp transfer chiefs are willing to offer £88m (€100m) AND Barca goalkeeper Cillessen.
Don Balon add that Salah is seen as an alternative to Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann, who looks set to snub a move to Barcelona.
Lionel Messi future
Lionel Messi insists he will not discuss his Barcelona future during the World Cup.
Messi only signed a new contract at Barcelona last year in a deal that runs until 2021, but that has not prevented speculation that the Argentina superstar could quit the club.
Messi is supposedly paid as much as €2m a week to represent Barca.
Were he to leave the club only one of the world’s elite sides would be able to afford him, unless he takes a pay cut.
Messi spoke to Express Sport just two days before the start of the World Cup in Russia, where he will be looking to go one further than four years ago when Argentina lost in the final.
“I don’t want to speak about my future,” he said. “For now I’m only concerned about the present and doing the best I can in this World Cup.
“For Argentina the World Cup is special and it’s a big dream to lift the cup again. For me it would fulfil a childhood dream and so you can be sure I will give it everything.”
