Barcelona transfer news: Yerry Mina drops two clues he will join Man Utd before deadline
Barcelona defender Mina is on Manchester United’s list of transfer targets as they mull over cheaper alternatives to Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld.
The Colombia international may leave the club behind for a new challenge elsewhere, having failed to earn the trust of Ernesto Valverde since joining from Palmeiras in January.
Barcelona have already prepared for Mina’s exit by landing Clemence Lenglet from fellow La Liga side Sevilla.
And Mina, who has been the subject of fierce interest from Everton in recent weeks, has now dropped two clues he will join Manchester United.
The player has been extremely busy on social media.
And Sport claim he has ‘erased from his profile that is a player of FC Barcelona’ in a development that has ‘run like wildfire in the Colombian media.’
Many players include the team they play for in their social media profile but Mina, amid uncertainty over his future, has now taken them out.
That suggests a move away beckons.
And, if his social media activity is anything to go by, then United will be his next destination.
Sport point out the Colombia international has now started to follow the Old Trafford outfit.
And, though Everton have been linked, he has not chosen to keep updated with regards to the ongoings of the Merseyside outfit.
ESPN pundit Paul Mariner, meanwhile, thinks United will sign Mina before the transfer deadline.
He said: “Well it seems that way.
“Manchester United are at a bit of a squeeze point now. They’re in for Maguire but Leicester will keep putting the price up, exactly the same with Barcelona.
“Because they’ve left it so late United, they’re going to get squeezed.
“They need somebody desperately, so I’m going to say ‘get him in’.
“I said it about Maguire, they need a central defender because if you look at that back four it’s ageing a little bit and I don’t think the central defenders are up to it for United.
“So I’m going to say yep to it (Mina).”
