Chelsea and Arsenal could see transfer plan ruined by Cristiano Ronaldo joining Juventus
Golovin cemented his place as one of the breakout stars of the World Cup before Russia were knocked out at the quarter-final stage by Croatia.
And his performances only heightened the interest in him which had been fostered by his performances at club level for CSKA Moscow.
Chelsea and Arsenal have both cast eyes over Golovin, with the Blues thought to be edging towards a deal to bring him to the Premier League.
However, the latest reports in Italy indicate Ronaldo’s move to Juventus could end their hopes of getting the 22-year-old on-board.
According to Tuttosport, Ronaldo’s arrival in Turin has strengthened Golovin’s desire to join Juventus.
Golovin is said to have sent messages to Juventus in the past few days to let them know where he sees his future.
And insiders have apparently learned the playmaker would sooner sign for Juventus than Chelsea and Arsenal.
Juventus are believed to have already made two offers for Golovin, with the second coming in at £22m (€25m).
CSKA have slapped a £27m (€30m) price tag on the former Metallurg Novokuznetsk youngster though.
Juventus are currently finalising details of Ronaldo’s switch, which has held up other aspects of their transfer business.
But once that is sorted they may raise funds for a fresh swoop for Golovin by selling Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani to Chelsea.
Golovin is not the only midfielder Juventus could beat Arsenal to as they seek to bolster Massimiliano Allegri’s squad.
The Serie A giants have got Adrien Rabiot on their radar after he entered the final 12 months of his Paris Saint-Germain contract.
And they are hoping to snap him up on a free transfer when that agreement expires at the end of next season.
