Chelsea news: Leon Bailey told to REJECT Blues because of one man | Football | Sport
That is the opinion of ESPN FC pundit and former West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop.
Bailey has been linked with a move to both Chelsea and Liverpool in recent months.
The 21-year-old has been a regular in the Bayer Leverkusen side since joining from Genk in 2017.
However, Hislop does not think a move to Chelsea would be the wisest decision from Bailey at this moment in time.
Hislop was asked by ESPN presenter Alexis Nunes about Bailey: “Is this something he should pursue right now? While Hazard and co are still there?”
The former Premier League star responded: “No.
“I think Hazard is going to be there for a while. He’s playing well, I think he’s enjoying his football.
“I felt that if Hazard was leaving Chelsea and soon, it would have been the summer just gone. It hasn’t happened.
“Leon Bailey is enjoying life in Germany and let that continue.
“There’s no rush to get to Chelsea so you can say that Eden Hazard is your team-mate.
“If you aren’t playing, you aren’t learning or growing in the game.
“Leave Bailey where he is, as of right now I don’t see Hazard moving.”
Hazard was linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer.
And the Belgian admitted he spoke to Chelsea about his future before the start of this season.
“I’m always happy when I play football,” Hazard said.
“After the World Cup I spoke, now I’m still with Chelsea.
“I just try to give everything for this club. This club gave me a lot so when I’m on the pitch I try to do my best.”
