Chelsea transfer news: Gonzalo Higuain snubs Maurizio Sarri by 'agreeing' AC Milan move
Higuain will join Milan on loan with a £32m permanent option clause in the deal.
The loan itself will cost Milan around £15m and is part of a swap deal which will see Mattia Caldara also join Milan and Leonardo Bonucci head the other way.
The transfer is a blow to Maurzio Sarri who wanted Higuain as his main striker at Chelsea next season with doubts over Alvaro Morata’s future.
Morata blew hot and cold last season, scoring just three times since Christmas, but looks set for a stay of execution.
The future of Olivier Giroud is also uncertain but it now looks likely he will also stay while Michy Batshuayi is another option for Sarri.
Higuain has been ousted from Juve after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The pair met yesterday as Ronaldo underwent medical checks after returning from holiday.
