Chelsea transfer news: Willian picks between Man Utd and Barcelona because of one player
Chelsea forward Willian is wanted by both Manchester United and Barcelona this summer amid uncertainty over his Stamford Bridge future.
The Brazil international looks destined to leave Stamford Bridge, despite Antonio Conte making way for Maurizio Sarri.
Willian has been a huge hit at Chelsea ever since signing from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala in the summer of 2013, helping them win two Premier League titles during his time in west London.
At the age of 29, however, he is keen on one final challenge elsewhere.
And Catalan newspaper Sport say Willian is ready to snub Manchester United for Barcelona, with the influence of one player key.
United are hellbent on landing him as a cheaper option to Gareth Bale, who looks primed to stay at Real Madrid.
Barcelona, though, want him to jostle with Ousmane Dembele for a place on the right wing.
Sport say Willian has been regularly talking with Philippe Coutinho about Barcelona.
They duo reportedly discussed life at the Catalan giants while on international duty with Brazil at the World Cup.
And that could now see United miss out.
Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho was in a sulky mood about transfers, recently saying: “I’m not going to say somebody is coming or nobody is coming. I really don’t know.
“We lost Michael Carrick and we think Fred is the kind of player that we need to complement the qualities of our midfield players.”
Other United targets include Alex Sandro and Toby Alderweireld.
But, with Willian looking set to join Barcelona, Mourinho is facing a big problem going into the new Premier League season.
