Arsenal double bid in striker plot – reports – Wales Online

Here are the latest Premier League transfer rumours for Friday, July 12.

Manchester United scouting defender

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s transfer business in the market continues and he is still keen on bolstering his Manchester United defence, as Record states scouts watched Benfica on Wednesday.

The Portuguese outlet says United have opened discussions with Benfica for highly-coveted defender Ruben Dias, who is currently in negotiations for an extension to his contract.

A price for the 22-year-old is not mentioned but his current release clause is €66m.

Koscielny close to agreement with French side

Arsenal were rocked on Thursday after club captain Laurent Koscielny refused to travel with the squad for the pre-season tour of the United States, which may accelerate a transfer.

The French defender is keen to return to his homeland and Yahoo France state that an agreement between the 33-year-old and Stade Rennais is close, although a deal will need to be finalised with Arsenal.

Koscielny wants to be available to move for free, which is something the Gunners are not prepared to consider.

Arsenal ‘double bid’

After reports of Arsenal’s chase for Wilfried Zaha being all but done, Football London report that Arsenal may test the resolve of the Eagles by offering three players in addition to cash.

Those touted are Calum Chambers, Mohamed Elneny and Carl Jenkinson, who would be valued at around £40m – and could be viewed as the club doubling their bid.

Brighton join race for Harry Wilson

Brighton, Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Wolves are all said to be interested in Wales talent Harry Wilson.

Brighton and Hove Independent report that Liverpool value their man at £20m, while many at Anfield would prefer the youngster to remain at Anfield despite a successful loan spell with Derby County last season.

Liverpool receive enquiry for Virgil Van Dijk

Barcelona are reported to have made an enquiry about signing Liverpool’s pivotal Virgil Van Dijk, who completed his £75m move to Anfield in 2018.

The Mirror reports that Barcelona made enquiries about whether the player could be tempted to leave Liverpool, and were quickly given short shrift by the Dutch defender’s representatives.

Tottenham agree terms with Lo Celso

Mauricio Pochettino continues to search for midfield improvements, having already landed Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon, and Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is a name that continues to appear.

Estadio Deportivo states Spurs have already agreed a £150k-a-week deal with the Argentine midfielder but reaching an agreement with the La Liga side is proven to be more difficult, as they have raised their asking price to €70m.

However, all parties are keen on reaching an agreement before the close of the transfer window next month.

Aston Villa in advanced defender talks

Not content with landing Tyrone Mings and Kortney Hause, Aston Villa continue to eye defensive additions and are eyeing a move for Stade de Reims defender Bjorn Engels.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan with the Ligue 1 side from Olympiakos before making the switch permanent for £3.6m, although L’Equipe says his stay could be very short.

Villa are said to be in advanced talks for the former Belgium U21 international but a price-tag is not mentioned.

Southampton misfit attracting vast interest

Southampton could be set to offload Sofiane Boufal in the transfer market, capitalising on the player’s displays at the African Cup of Nations with Morocco.

Foot Mercato says Ligue 1 trio Marseille, Nice and Bordeaux are all keen on the 25-year-old, who made his name in France, and a deal could be reached for just €10m.

That would represent a significant financial loss for the Saints, as they paid £16.8m for his services in 2016.
