It’s already more than two weeks since Aston Villa clinched a brilliant return to the Premier League.
And fans will have to wait just one more day to find out where and when they will be visiting when the action gets under way again.
The transfer window is already open, that happened on May 16 and teams have been able to trade since.
So with no World Cup to distract us this summer here are some key dates for your Aston Villa diary – including a new friendly.
The club have confirmed they will play Red Bull Leipzig away on Saturday, August 3 – the day when the Championship starts. Kick-off is at 3.30pm local time.
Here are some other key dates.
Thursday, June 13 – Premier League fixture release at 9am.
Early July – Villa fans will see their new Kappa kit close to this date. The kits for the 2018/19 season were unveiled on July 9, while the previous season’s strips were launched on July 1.
Mid July – Pre-season tour to United States.
Wednesday, July 17 – Minnesota United, Allianz Field, kick-off 7pm local time.
Sunday, July 21 – Shrewsbury away, kick-off 2pm
Wednesday, July 24 – Walsall away, kick-off 7.45pm
Saturday, July 27 – Charlton Athletic away, kick-off 3pm
August 3 – RB Leipzig away, kick-off 3.30pm local time
August 8 – The transfer window closes. Clubs can still sell players to other nations if the window in that country remains open. The transfer window in France, Spain and Germany shuts on August 31, while Italy’s transfer window concludes on August 18.
August 9/10/11/12 – Premier League starts
w/c August 12 – Carabao Cup Round 1
February 2020 – Premier League mid-winter break. Each club is guaranteed 13 days off between matches, but the break will be staggered so there will be weekend Premier League football throughout the break period.
Sunday, March 1, 2020 – Carabao Cup final
May 17, 2020 Premier League concludes.
