Spurs in prime time as NBC Sports announces early season Premier League TV schedule – Cartilage Free Captain

Tottenham Hotspur will have to start the season strong to deal with the opening fixtures that they have been assigned.

Spurs start the season against Aston Villa, who have the potential to be the trickiest of the promoted sides. Then Mauricio Pochettino and company have to go to the Etihad to face Manchester City, the defending champions. Then it’s Newcastle at home and a North London Derby (!) at the Emirates.

Thus, it’s no surprise that Spurs are a big part of the early season TV schedule that NBC Sports announced on Thursday.

Both the Villa and City games are on NBC. After that, the Newcastle and Arsenal games are both on NBC Sports Network. There won’t be any need for dodgy streams for American Spurs fans, at least at the beginning of the campaign.

NBC will probably market the hell out of the clash with Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s team have now won two Premier League titles in a row, and Liverpool and Tottenham will seem like the two clubs most likely to dethrone them on the eve of the new season. And Spurs and City have had some epic battles in recent years.

There’s an international break after the trip to the library, and then Spurs are on NBCSN again for the matches with Crystal Palace and Leicester City. You won’t need to hunt for a stream until Southampton at home on September 28th, when the Lilywhites are on NBC Sports Gold.

Wednesday marked just one month before the start of next season. Quite a few players reported back for preseason earlier this week. The new season will be here before we know it, and hopefully a couple more new signings will be too.
