Title, Europe and relegation: How the bookies rate Aston Villa in the Premier League – Birmingham Live

Aston Villa are back in the big time – but what do the bookmakers make of their chances upon their Premier League return?

Villa, who edged out Derby County in the Championship play-off final at Wembley , have already released eight senior players at the end of their respective contracts, while Ross McCormack and Gary Gardner have departed too.

They’ve moved to bring in Jota and made Anwar El Ghazi’s loan stay a permanent arrangement in the early stages of the window.

The club will now press on with their recruitment drive as Dean Smith embarks on his first campaign as a top flight boss.

Much is expected to happen, in terms of transfer business, between now and the beginning of August, and these odds are of course subject to fluctuation.

Villa will be expected to stave off the threat of relegation – a natural target for any new side in the Premier League, and indeed for many of those more established outfits.

The odds, provided below by 32Red , reflect that.

Odds are also offered on Villa’s chances of winning the title, clinching one of the European spots, posting a top half finish and also the likelihood of them being the most successful of all three sides to have won promotion this term.
