West Ham vs Arsenal
Premier League 2018-19
Venue: London Stadium
Date: Saturday, January 12, 2019
Kick-off: 12:30pm GMT
The first Premier League match of gameweek 22 brings us a London derby in the east of the city as West Ham host Arsenal this afternoon.
Unai Emery’s bright start at Arsenal has stuttered in recent weeks, with the Gunners’ unbeaten run coming to an end and just two wins in their last five Premier League games leaving the club three points off fourth place.
As for West Ham, Manuel Pellegrini’s side enjoyed an impressive December before coming unstuck, with four points from their last four matches putting the Hammers 10th.
Both managers need a win to kickstart their years, with expectations high for the London rivals.

Anderson has come closest
45 mins: West Ham are ending the half on top here.
Declan Rice has just missed a cracking chance to send them into the break ahead, glancing Felipe Anderson’s corner wide.
38 mins: Matteo Guendouzi is down and in some discomfort here, after landing awkwardly on his shoulder.
Nasri is the man who caused it, which will no doubt further endear him to the Gunners fans.
35 mins: That’s a cracking effort from Matteo Guendouzi, who breezes away from Anderson and hits one that tickles the outside of the net.
The Arsenal fans up the other end thought it was in for a moment.
32 mins: That’s the closest West Ham have come.
It’s brilliantly struck by Anderson off Nasri’s pass but it whistles just past the far post. Leno was beaten.
29 mins: Superb block from Sokratis as a it of pinball on the edge of the Arsenal box gives Arnautovic a shooting chance.
26 mins: That would’ve ruffled a few feathers in the away end. Samir Nasri finds half a yard of space but drags his finish wide of the near post.
22 mins: Massive chance for Arsenal.
It’s a brilliant flick from Iwobi that sends Kolasinac in on goal, and though the angle is tight he should probably go it alone. Instead he tries to pick out Lacazette and it’s intercepted.
20 mins: Arsenal are just starting to dominate here, with Lacazette in particular causing mischief and Guendouzi looking sharp in midfield.
13 mins: Now it’s Arsenal looking dangerous. Alex Iwobi doesn’t spot the run of Sead Kolasinac, who would’ve been in, and instead feeds Aubameyang.
He flicks cleverly into Lacazette who surges into the Hammers box and forces a decent block from Fabianski. The rebound comes back too the Frenchman but it’s awkward and he can’t get over it.
9 mins: Route one stuff from Arsenal as Xhaka clips a ball up towards Lacazette.
The Frenchman brings it down on his chest and is invited to shoot as the defence backs off and his looping effort isn’t too far away.
6 mins: First chance of the game for the home side, as Antonio races down the wing, away from Xhaka.
He finds Mark Noble infield, who plays a lovely one-two on the edge of the box but then completely miscues his finish.
3 mins: Angelo Ogbonna is in at centre half for West Ham today, with Fabian Balbuena ruled out for six to eight weeks because of surgery.
He’s started a little shakily here, inviting pressure by dwelling on it at the back.
The players are out, the bubbles are in the air, and it’s almost time to get underway at the London Stadium…
