England World Cup squad: Fans FURIOUS with the FA for shocking announcement
The FA finally broke the news of Gareth Southgate’s 23-man squad at 2pm this afternoon on Twitter.
But instead of fans debating the picks over who had been included and who had been left out, supporters were united in the way the squad was announced.
Instead of a typical written list, or simple graphic being used to display the team, England posted a video 1 minute and 51 seconds long.
And fans were not happy at the added wait to find out the full squad list.
“What the f*** is the utter state of this?” one fan replied.
“What the f*** is this bull****?! Just announce the squad,” said another.

A third added: “This is the absolute strangest squad announcement I’ve ever seen.”
“Can’t watch too cringe,” a fourth added.
As expected, Joe Hart and Jack Wilshere have both missed out but there are surprise call-ups for Liverpool teenager Trent Alexander-Arnold and Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
England U21 defender Alexander-Arnold, 19, is uncapped at senior level and his inclusion has blindsided many.
Adam Lallana, Jack Wilshere and Joe Hart are other notable absentees from the players heading to Russia.
