Liverpool can challenge Man City for the Premier League title, claims new-boy Naby Keita
LIVERPOOL can challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title, claims new-boy Naby Keita.
The former RB Leipzig man, 24, impressed in his pre-season friendly debut against Blackburn and promised to be aggressive in pursuit of a league crown.
Keita has said Jurgen Klopp’s Reds certainly have the talent… they now just need the mindset to match.
The Guinean revealed: “I know we have enough quality… it’s all about having the mindset and desire to want it and fight for it enough.
“I think that goes a long way, having that desire and belief.
“I’m someone who has this real winning mentality. I have a huge desire to win. That’s why I’m aggressive in a positive sense on the field.”
Meanwhile, Alberto Moreno has been quick to hail “incredible” new-boy Keita – as well as the rest of Liverpool latest arrivals.
The Spaniard reckons that with the likes of Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri joining the Anfield ranks, the Reds can be the most “entertaining” team around.
Moreno claimed: “With both Naby and Fabinho, and now Shaqiri, we’ve brought in top, top players.
“Everybody knows that Fabinho is a great midfielder, and from what I’ve seen of Naby in training, he’s just incredible.
“As we say in Spain, he’s a real pit bull.
“I’m still to see Shaqiri but everyone knows him well for his stats and his Premier League record, and how well he performs.
“I think they are three guys who are going to entertain the fans and give us an awful lot this campaign.”
