Liverpool transfer news LIVE: Shaqiri medical set, Dybala claim, shock Karius replacement
Liverpool have reportedly agreed to pay Xherdan Shaqiri’s release clause with a medical set for today.
Liverpool got some of their transfer business done early in the window by bringing in Fabinho from Monaco while Naby Keita completed his move from Red Bull Leipzig.
And they look set to be on the verge of completing their third signing of the summer with Shaqiri set to undergo a medical at Melwood.
That’s according to the Telegraph, who report Liverpool have agreed to pay Shaqiri’s £13.75million release clause.
Liverpool will not be signing Paulo Dybala from Juventus this summer.
That’s the verdict of Italian agent Pasquale Gallo, who’s tipped the 24-year-old to shine alongside Juventus new boy Cristiano Ronaldo.
Dybala has been touted as a Ballon d’Or contender of the future but his Allianz Stadium career is far from certain to continue beyond the summer.
The Argentina international has been linked with a move away from Juventus to help make room for Ronaldo’s arrival.
Liverpool has been talked of as his most likely destination, with the Premier League giants said to have contacted Juventus chief Giuseppe Marotta.
Danny Ward is in line to replace the struggling Loris Karius in goal for Liverpool this season.
Jurgen Klopp has been hugely impressed with the Welshman since his return to pre-season this month.
And with Loris Karius still struggling to shake off the nightmare of May’s Champions League final, the Liverpool echo claim Ward is now ready to be given his shot this season.
Liverpool have been linked with Roma shot-stopper Alisson in recent weeks.
However, the Brazilian is also attracting interest from Chelsea and Real Madrid.
