Liverpool transfer news: Nabil Fekir development amid Chelsea and Man Utd claims
Liverpool nearly prised Fekir away from Lyon last month but the transfer ultimately fell through.
The Reds pulled the plug due to concerns over the 24-year-old’s ongoing knee issues and, though interest on Merseyside remains high, they are yet to make another move.
Despite that, though, bookies have Liverpool as the favourites to land Fekir with the transfer deadline now just nine days away.
In the time since the Reds scrapped a deal, links to Manchester United and Chelsea have arisen.
Lyon chief Jean-Michel Aulas suggested Jose Mourinho wanted Fekir, saying: “I was with Jose Mourinho the other day.
“We had long discussions.”
Chelsea have also been linked with Fekir as a replacement for Eden Hazard.
Reports have claimed the Blues have the France international on a list of potential Hazard replacements with Christian Pulisic also in their sights.
However, Ladbrokes still have Liverpool as favourites to sign Fekir despite them distancing themselves from transfer talk.
The Merseyside outfit are priced at 2/1 to land Fekir with Chelsea then at 8/1.
Manchester United, Real Madrid and Inter Milan are all available at 20/1.
And Tottenham, Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester City are outsiders at 33/1.
Meanwhile, speaking recently, Jurgen Klopp opened up on the club’s long-term links to Fekir.
He said, when quizzed on Fekir: “Nothing really to say about that.
“I said already something about it around a pre-season game, I don’t know exactly which one.
“It’s probably… done. But there’s two weeks left.
“If nothing happens with our boys, then I’m happy. It’s fine. So we can go.”
