Liverpool’s first pre-season fixture saw them run out 6-0 winners over their fellow Merseysiders, whom the fielded a strong side against.
Brewster, who has been plagued by injury, was the star of the show, scoring in the 38th and 45th minute.
The 19-year-old’s impressive display at Prenton Park thrilled Reds fans and left them optimistic about what the future holds for the forward.
Many were quick to heap praise on the former Chelsea academy star on Twitter.
However, their tweets prompted Manchester United fans to troll the youngster and declare him a worse player than their own rising starlet Mason Greenwood.
“Brewster comes no were close to Greenwood,” tweeted one United fan. “It’s disrespectful to even compare Greenwood to Brewster.
“Greenwood > Brewster. Don’t ever get it twisted.”
Another said: “Brewster is the b-tec Greenwood.”
In response to a Liverpool fan’s hailing of Brewster, one United fan said: “Have u seen greenwood’s stats in the youth team? he’s a much better prospect than brewster imo.”
“Brewster isn’t even on the same level as Greenwood,” one angry Red Devil said.
“Greenwood is [a] future Ballon d’Or winner level,” another defiant United fan said.
“Brewster is another bum who will never even make it at the top level.”
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was thoroughly impressed by Brewster’s performance against Tranmere and plans on integrating him into the first team this season.
“Rhian is a top striker,” the German said. “He is a top talent and I have told him already that he has an important role this year but how important depends on him. We will see.
“He has to play different positions – the centre, wing is possible I think, but there will be opportunities for him I am sure.”
Liverpool kick off their Premier League campaign on August 9, welcoming Championship winners Norwich City to Anfield.
