Man Utd fans make Mason Greenwood plea after outrageous brace in youth game | Football | Sport
Greenwood has been impressive for Manchester United’s youth team this season.
And his latest antics on the field have once again raised the debate whether Jose Mourinho should be giving youngsters more opportunities in the first team.
During a under-18s match against Norwich last weekend, Green found the back of the net twice during the 3-0 win for the young Red Devils.
Greenwood used his quick feet to break down Norwich’s defence before firing home his first goal of the afternoon.
Just minutes later, the pacy 17-year-old beat the full-back to chip the goalkeeper from close-range to double his goal tally.
And the Old Trafford faithful have been quick to call on Mourinho to bring Greenwood into the senior side.
“Don’t care how old he is he knows where the goal is get him in the first team,” one fan wrote.
Another said: “Promote Greenwood to the first team.”
“Bring Mason to the first team please,” a third fan commented.
A fourth supporter said: “Well it’s time for Greenwood to play with senior team like rashford 3 years ago.”
Meanwhile some supporters believe the youngster is already better than some of United’s first-team stars.
“He is already better than [Marcus] Rashford and [Romelu] Lukaku,” one fan said.
Another said: “Looks like Lukaku will have to take lessons from Greenwood.”
“Sell Lukaku and promote this lad,” a third fan wrote.
