Man Utd news: Eric Bailly leading REVOLT against Jose Mourinho as Arsenal eye transfer | Football | Sport
Manchester United boss Mourinho signed Bailly from Villarreal back in the summer of 2016, full of belief the Ivory Coast international could be an Old Trafford legend.
Things for the 24-year-old Ivorian have soured of late, with the player managing just seven appearances across all competitions so far.
Manchester United manager Mourinho is keen to invest in another centre-back when the transfer window reopens in January.
Bailly has not played since being hooked in United’s stirring 3-2 victory over Newcastle at the end of October, leading to talk of a move away.
And Ivory Coast outlet Adbidjanshow claim Bailly is eager to leave the club.
It is said he is unhappy at Mourinho’s brutal treatment of him, with Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling currently the club’s first-choice centre-back pairing.
Bailly is reportedly ready to consider his future at the club if Mourinho stays in charge.
And Arsenal, AC Milan and Roma are among the clubs queuing up to secure his signature.
The Gunners could do with strengthening at the back given Laurent Koscielny’s long-term future at the club is in doubt.
Milan are eyeing a signing spree to aid their faltering season, while Roma have plenty of cash to spend after flogging a number of stars last summer.
Meanwhile, Adbidjanshow claim Bailly is not the only United player ready to leave.
The report claims ‘several other United players’ are ready to turn their back on the club should Mourinho to continue to leave them out.
Alexis Sanchez, it seems, is among them.
Sanchez has struggled for game time at United and, with his form continuing to dip, a move away could happen.
Andreas Pereira is another player who has been tipped to leave.
But whether Mourinho can sooth things over – and keep his job in the process – is something only time will tell.
Bailly, meanwhile, has helped the club win the EFL Cup and Europa League since his arrival two years ago.
