Man Utd news: What Jose Mourinho is REALLY like on training ground – Asmir Begovic | Football | Sport
That is according to Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, who played under Mourinho at Chelsea.
Mourinho has cut a frustrated figure at Manchester United this season and has often been frosty in press conferences and interviews.
United did lose two of their first three games of the campaign but have now won back-to-back at Burnley and Watford.
And Begovic says Mourinho’s demeanour is because he is so desperate for his team to win.
“He’s a very passionate, emotional manager,” former Chelsea stopper Begovic said on Goals on Sunday.
“He’s emotional, he feels everything. When things aren’t going his well or right for the team then he feels that.
“He wants success more than anyone and wants the whole team to do really.
“I think in that aspect you maybe saw that in some of his actions and stuff.”
Begovic was then asked about what Jose Mourinho was like on the training ground.
And the Bosnian claimed the 55-year-old is the best manager he has worked under.
“Great guy, yeah,” he added.
“Absolutely loved playing for him. My favourite ever manager too play for.
“His character, loves to joke, loves to be funny, but at the same time he gets his message across.
“If he needs to say something the other way and have a pop at you or say it how it is, he just says the truth, he just says how it is and says it in front of everyone.
“I think that’s what most players respect as well.”
United sit eighth in the Premier League table after Saturday’s 2-1 win at Watford.
