Man Utd transfer news: New Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui demands deal – report
Spain manager Lopetegui was officially named as Zinedine Zidane’s replacement at the Bernabeu yesterday.
The 51-year-old will take over after the World Cup in Russia this summer.
And according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, Lopetegui is already making transfer plans for his new role.
They say the incoming Real boss has demanded five signings, with United star De Gea topping his wish list.
Don Balon say Lopetegui wants De Gea, Alvaro Odriozola of Real Sociedad, Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez and Bayern Munich duo Thiago and Robert Lewandowski.
Real are expected to splash the cash this summer, with Florentino Perez keen to land a new Galactico.
The Spanish giants are ready for a summer shake-up, despite winning the Champions League for the third consecutive season this year.
United No 1 De Gea is a long-term target for Real, with the Spain international almost heading to the Bernabeu in 2015.
De Gea has been vocal on his future in recent weeks, with the 27-year-old revealing he’s fully focused on the World Cup in Russia.
“My future? The important thing is the World Cup and not to think of anything else that can divert you or upset you,” De Gea said.
“You have to be focused on having a good World Cup – we are all good. Hopefully we can go far and win.
“Football is football and a thousand things can happen.
“But I’m always calm. Come what may, I’ll be the same. It is important to be focused and be 100 per cent.”
