Premier League sack race: Jose Mourinho now second favourite to be axed first in 2018/19
“Manchester United lost 4-1 to Liverpool in pre-season, and face further challenging friendlies against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich ”
Jose Mourinho does not appear to be a happy bunny at Manchester United, with the veteran manager repeatedly moaning throughout pre-season.
The Portuguese – who failed to win any trophies last season – has criticised chief executive Ed Woodward for failing to secure transfer targets – and also hit out at first team players such as Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young and Anthony Martial.
And now bookies Ladbrokes have him as the second most likely boss to be axed first this season.
Pep Guardiola – fresh from leading Manchester City to the title – is the least likely manager to leave his role next, with the Catalan the darling of the Etihad Stadium after overseeing a thrilling campaign.
United lost 4-1 to Liverpool in pre-season on Saturday, and face further challenging friendlies against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich before they hosts Leicester at Old Trafford on the opening day – Friday 10 August.
