Tottenham news: Spurs MOCKED on live TV after BIZARRE moment vs Liverpool | Football | Sport
Liverpool maintained their 100 per cent start to the Premier League season by beating Tottenham at Wembley.
The scoreline somewhat flattered the hosts, with the visitors wasting a number of clear-cut chances throughout the game.
Wijnaldum opened the scoring for Liverpool with a looping header after goalkeeper Michel Vorm and England international Eric Dier failed to deal with a James Milner corner.
Sky Sports pundit Chris Kamara was analysing the match on Goals on Sunday this morning.
Kamara looked closely at Spurs’ defending for the goal and noticed how Tottenham star Dier appeared to be marking his own team-mate, Kieran Trippier.
Video footage clearly showed Dier holding onto Trippier and Kamara was shocked at what he saw.
And he says Dier’s strange tactic prevented him getting a better headed clearance than the one which went straight to Wijnaldum.
“Look at (Jan) Vertonghen on (Virgil) Van Dijk, arms round him holding onto him,” Kamara said.
“Look at Kieran Trippier with Eric Dier holding onto him.
“Kieran thinks that it’s a Liverpool player holding onto him, so he’s got his arm out ‘come on referee, can’t you see there’s a player holding onto me?’.
“No, it’s your own player that’s holding onto you.
“Let’s just move it on a tad, so Van Dijk’s getting ready for the corner to be taken, watch Vertonghen once again.
“Now look, he’s gone for the cuddle, the full cuddle. Now look at Eric Dier, he’s gone for the full cuddle on his team-mate Kieran Trippier.
“You couldn’t make it up, you really couldn’t make it up.
“Look at Eric Dier and Tripps still having a fight. He (Dier) has got to fight over Trippier to get the ball.
“And he clears it to Wijnaldum and he gets the header in back towards goal.”
