Transfer news: Liverpool and Chelsea sent Alisson deadline warning by Roma
The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League and Real Madrid after an impressive season in Serie A.
Alisson’s Roma performances mean he is likely to depart the Italian outfit for around €70m (£62m).
Club officials have continuously insisted they have received no firm offers for the shot-stopper.
But Roma president Monchi has now told Chelsea and Liverpool they must hurry if they do in fact want to land Alisson before next month’s transfer deadline.
“The will to sell Alisson depends on Roma,” he said at a recent press conference.
“We always evaluate what comes in and decide for the good of Roma above all.
“I don’t want to talk about replacements, because Alisson hasn’t left.
“If that moment comes, we’ll think about it.
“Is there a deadline? Everything has its time, if it’s August 5 at 3am… Everything has its time.
“If you believe what you read in the press, when I leave here today I’ll have three or four calls from England and Spain, even Germany.
“Maybe you were distracted when I heard from the Germans…”
Alisson is currently on holiday after Brazil’s exit from the World Cup.
The pre-tournament favourites crashed out at the quarter-final stage, losing 2-1 to Belgium.
