Transfer news: Real Madrid revelation has Man Utd and Chelsea stars sweating
Real Madrid are understood to be seeking a new goalkeeper this summer.
Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois and David De Gea of Manchester United are their two big targets.
As is Roma’s star keeper Alisson.
Both Premier League shot-stoppers appear keen to join the Bernabeu club this summer, while Alisson has a raft of suitors.
But all three men may struggle to convince Lopetegui to sign them.
That is according to Spanish newspaper AS, who claim Costa Rican Navas is delighted with Lopetegui’s recent appointment.
He supposedly believes that the arrival of the new manager will strengthen his own place in the Real XI.
Navas has stood between the Real sticks ever since Iker Casillas left the club.
And AS reckon he will be there next season too.
The revelation will come as a frustration for De Gea, who almost joined Real in 2015 and whose United contract expires next summer.
Courtois, meanwhile, saw contract negotiations with Chelsea break down recently, fuelling speculation he was set to leave the club.
Navas is under contract at Real Madrid until 2022 and has won three straight Champions League crowns with Los Blancos.
As for Lopetegui, he is expected to be revealed as Real’s new manager at a press conference today.
