WATCH: Liverpool icon Ian Rush compares himself to Man City superstar Sergio Aguero
Rush went down in Anfield history after scoring a massive 346 goals in 660 appearances for the club.
But while Rush believes Roberto Firmino’s hard-working attitude is much like his own, the Welshman actually picked Manchester City superstar Sergio Aguero as the Premier League player that reminds him of his playing days.
“Aguero really. He’s the one in the penalty box,” Rush said on Dugout.
“I was always the one in the penalty box and Sergio Aguero is most probably be the one who’s doing that. He works hard.
“Harry Kane is another one… Looking at Liverpool, Firmino he works really hard for the team.
“But for me, I was known as goals really so I’d say most probably the one inside the penalty box would be Aguero.”
Aguero became City’s all-time leading goalscorer last season when he netted during their win over Napoli.
The Argentina star bagged his 178th goal for the club breaking Eric Brook’s record which had stood for 78 years.
Aguero’s 30 goals during the 2017/18 has taken him to a tally of 199 since joining the club in 2011.
